As
Pastor of First Baptist I would like to welcome you to our
site. I have been asking myself where you, the reader, might
be from? Are you from here in Brandon, or from an area just
outside our city or are you from some far away country searching
the net to see what other churches have done for their website?
(That is what I have done.) Maybe you are being asked to
move to the province and you are looking around for opportunities
to become involved in our churches life. Whatever brought
you to our site, I pray that it has helped to answer some
of your questions or at least has let you know that we at
First Baptist Brandon are happy to have you here today.
My family and I arrived here in the summer of 2000 so we
know about the "moving thing." Getting settled
into a new community takes time. We certainly enjoyed the
way people reached out to us. Others who moved here at about
the same time have shared the same feeling of being welcomed
into our church family.
People make the church as we endeavour to enjoy and serve
a risen Saviour. We have a fully integrated service, i.e.,
something for everyone in a wide range of ages and backgrounds
... Gods people working together to be Gods
family.
We
have a marvelous place from which to worship and serve the
Lord.
A new facility of eight years, it is bright and uplifting.
We have a corner lot with room for parking and expansion
in this new area of town. Please have a look at our virtual
display of the church.
People and a place from which to minister are important
but the purpose of a local church is to keep us moving to
maturity in Christ. We have come to understand that there
are basic purposes of a local church. Worship, Discipleship,
Fellowship, Outreach and Service provide the cornerstones
of being a well-rounded church as we serve Christ our Lord.
I believe that our church has a place for people who want
to grow and mature in Christ. We would like to welcome you
as a visitor, friend, new person in town or as a surfer.
It has been a pleasure to leave this note for you to consider
today.
