The
JOY Fellowship ("just older youth") meets
every 2nd and 4th Wednesday afternoons for Bible Study,
singing and fellowship. A variety of topics and books of
the Bible are reviewed and discussed.
Baca
Groups include a Sunday evening group and a Tuesday
evening group. Both groups meet at the church.
The
name Baca comes from Psalm 84: 5-7 which reads. "How
blessed is the man whose strength is in Thee, in whose heart
are the highways to Zion! Passing through the valley of
Baca, they make it a spring. The early rain also covers
it with blessings. They go from strength to strength. Every
one of them appears before God in Zion."
The
valley of Baca, or valley of weeping, is a description of
a valley that God's followers pass through on their life
journey, as they go towards Zion, or final meeting place
with God. As we pass through "valleys" in life
we can experience challenges, difficult pathways, danger,
fear, sadness, fatigue, etc. Life holds challenges for each
of us. But as God's followers travel through the valley
together they gain strength from one another. They encourage
and build up one another in Christ's love and salvation.
There is hope and help as they travel the journey. And as
they go they rejoice and talk about God's great riches and
gifts to each of us.
Our
Baca groups are to be a place for God's followers to meet
together. To share trials, challenges, joys, accomplishments,
hurts, etc. with each other and to bring these things to
God through prayer. It is also a place to study God's word
and gain understanding and guidance to get through the "valleys".
It is of great comfort, encouragement and joy to "travel"
together with other believers through the valleys and also
along the mountaintops. Join a Baca group and experience
God's teachings and learn more about others who walk the
valley with you.
